It has now officially become an annual party on Sam's side of the family. This is my third year helping, and I fully enjoy it. It all has to start with the boys and their dad contemplating what has to be done. Although, we all know what is coming. (Left to right: Mitch, Ben, their dad Wally, and Sam) Next we make sure all the supplies are ready (our nieces Maddie & Hannah) Ben starts the excitement by roping the calves. The men go in to tackle the calf. Sam gets out of the way before he get's clothes-lined. With the back legs roped, and the head secure, I go in for the shot, and Sam is waiting in the background to brand. I thank Sam for waiting for me to leave before he starts to brand, because that smoke doesn't smell like bonfire smoke! Cheerio them......??? Or just cut them off?....Castration (You city people will have to look it up) All in a hard day's work. We relax later that day by playing croquet.
